How to do septic tank maintenance?

Septic tank maintenance has the following key points, including:

  1. Inspect the septic tank system and measure the depth of sludge at least once every 6 months. More frequent inspection and desludging might be necessary for heavily used
  2. Inspect the septic tank system immediately if there is any overflow from it, foul smell becomes more noticeable, your toilet doesn’t flush properly or your sink doesn’t drain properly.
  3. Desludge the septic tank system whenever the thickness of sludge exceeds 30 cm or 1/4 of overall water depth
  4. Inspect if there is any defect in your drainage system or septic tank system after each desludging
